"Oversized / Dimensional" Feature

Oversized obsolete as of 1/1/07!

What this feature does:

Calculates whether a box you are shipping is considered "oversized" or "dimensional".

Screen Shot #1: First, your 'ship via' in INVENTORY MAINTENANCE must be set accordingly.
Notice line 33.

Instructions:
After invoicing in Order Entry, enter the actual weight ... (see screen "2a" below). Then, with the curser on THAT field, hit 'F2' (see screen "2b" below).

Screen shot "2a": The field highlighted is the actual weight of the box (2 lbs).

Screen shot "2b": After hitting "F2", the screen below appears.

Enter in the Length, Width and Height.. then the system automatically calculates the girth.
From there, the system also determines whether the package is "oversized 1" (OS1), "OS2", "OS3" (aka "Large"), or "dimensional".

NOTE:
Only GROUND packages can be OVERSIZED. And only AIR packages can be DIMENSIONAL or LARGE.

Screen shot #3:

Entry line #8 ("Additional handling") is a manual entry. Enter "Y" if there is additional handling on this order. (see UPS guidelines)
Entry line #10 ("Hazardous material") is also a manual entry. Enter "Y" if this shipment is considered hazardous (see UPS or USPS guidelines).

After completing the entries on this screen, the system calculates the appropriate shipping charges.
Keep in mind that OS3 packages will be surcharged $40 for being "Large" (see UPS standards).
AND, "Large Package AIR" packages are subject to a $90 minimum billable rate (see UPS standards).

Screen shot 4: The "Shipping Detail" will display the '1Z' number and the box's dimensions (highlighted in red).
